Edwin C. Moses Bridge to Close for Construction
The City of Dayton's latest infrastructure investment involves another bridge reconstruction. The 82-year old Edwin C. Moses Boulevard Bridge over Wolf Creek will be closed beginning February 2 to make way for a replacement bridge, with completion expected by May of 2010. The new bridge will include wider sidewalks, decorative railing and lighting, and cable-stays, at a cost of approximately $4.5 million. As a result of the closure, Edwin C. Moses will be closed to traffic between Third Street and Negley Place. The northbound detour will use Third Street to Broadway to Riverview Avenue; the southbound detour will use the First/Salem Bridge to Robert Drive to Third Street (see detour map and more information). The City of Dayton is in the process of replacing nine bridges over a seven-year period.
