Dr. Alison A. Clarey has practiced General Surgery in the Dayton, Ohio area since 1978. After receiving
her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, she attended the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery
in Des Moines, Iowa, and graduated in 1972. She completed her internship and surgical residency at Grandview
Hospital, finishing in 1977.
For the past 28 years, she has operated a successful General Surgery practice with offices in Dayton, Centerville
and Huber Heights. Since 1985, she has been performing Gastric Bypass Surgery, the Roux-en-Y-Gastric Bypass. She
has medical staff privileges at Grandview and Southview Hospitals.
A Fellow in the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, she is board-certified by the American Osteopathic
Board of Surgery. In addition to serving as Chief of Staff at Grandview and Southview Hospitals in 1991 and 1992, She
has served as President of the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. She is a Past-President of the Ohio
Osteopathic Association, serving from June, 1999 to June, 2000 and also serves on the Board of Governors of the American
College of Osteopathic Surgeons. Furthermore, she is an Associate Professor of General Surgery at the Ohio
University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is co-director of the Bariatric Surgery Clinic at Cassano Health
Center. She is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgery (ASBS) and is a Fellow of the American
College of Osteopathic Surgeons (FACOS).
