Dr. David E. Bruce has practiced General Surgery in the Dayton, Ohio area since 1979. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Franklin and Marshall College in 1970, he attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated in 1974. He completed his internship and surgical residency at Grandview Hospital, finishing in 1979. He has medical staff privileges at Grandview and Southview Hospitals.

A Fellow in the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, He is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. He has served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery and was the Program Trainer from 1986 to 1990. Currently he is a member of the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery and has been a Clinical and Oral Examiner since 1983. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is co-director of the Bariatric Surgery Clinic at Cassano Health Center. He is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgery (ASBS) and is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (FACOS).

Dr. Stephen R. Fleischer is the newest addition to Dayton Bariatric and General Surgery. He grew up in Massillon, Ohio and currently resides in Fairborn, Ohio with his wife and daughter. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Kent State University in 2002. After receiving his degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006 from Ohio University, he completed his Surgical Internship and Residency at Grandview Hospital.

Dr. Fleischer is certified with both the Lap Band and Ethicon Realize adjustable gastric band. He has also recently completed a mini-fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
